Basic idea :
Horror movie
Films that have inspired us:
We really admired this film as we used the idea of young defenceless teenagers in the start of our movie as well. We really admired the way it is so normal at the start of the movie, which makes it even more scary as it seems so believable and like it was such a normal situation that escalated so quickly into an abnormal situation.
The silence of the lambs
We used the idea of a 'mad man' kidnapper in our film as we wanted it to seem realistic and believable. We where very inspired by this film as its gave us the idea of the kidnapping. How ever we changed a lot of thing so we didn't feel like we where at any point like we were copping ideas or plagiarising any other films such as this one. We change the 'mad man' kidnapper into a stacker so the attack on the teenagers didn't seem too random and we also made the kidnapper take the wrong victim to make the plot more unique.
paranormal activity
We loved the idea of the realistic feel that this movie had. the rawness of the shots and the music less soundtrack made it feel extremely believable. So we decided to adopt that idea by making the shots raw and music less to create this normal house hold feeling.
Planning:
We had many ideas for genera such as comedy or romance but we decided to go with horror as that is where most of our ideas laid and we really wanted to film at night so it was perfect for timing also.
why did we choose to do this ?
We chose to do this particular opening because we felt it was our strongest trailer and it was the most appropriate for our filming schedule, as most of our filming was going to take place in the evening and in the dark.
Audience:
we sat and and brain stormed what age the audience should be to watch our film.
we thought people in there late 40s or early 50s would find the film a little childish. But children (from 0- 15) would find it far too scary. So we chose to do teenagers and young adults as we felt they would find this film more enjoyable and be able to relate to the charters more as they would also be young adults.
